I’ve only been telling the truth. I had to warn people. To keep them safe.

Rumours is a two-act stage play about reputations and how little it takes to destroy them. Sam and Sally meet at a house party where neither of them feel welcome. They both know a rumour about the other; whether the rumours are true is another issue altogether.

Rumours was first performed as a one-act play at the University of Exeter, touring to the Inter-University Drama Festival in Glasgow in 2018. With a cast of three and minimal staging, it is easily adaptable to any space. It has also been expanded into a two-act play with a running time of approximately fifty minutes, as well as a two-part audio drama.
